A native of Union County, SC, he was the son of the late Reverend Charlie Jennings, Sr. and Clorena Stewart Jennings.

Floyd did not meet a stranger. He was definitely remembered by everyone who came in contact with him. He loved talking to people and giving them advice on life in general. Before the conversation was over, he’d tell a joke and have you laughing. He loved his family and always put them before himself. He loved traveling. He was a member of the Happy Travelers and was always ready to “Get on the bus and ride Clyde” was his favorite saying.
He was an avid Carolina Panthers, Clemson Tigers, and Atlanta Braves fan. He absolutely loved strawberries!!! The strawberry lapel pin represents his grandchildren, whom he loved so much.
His spiritual journey began at Saint Paul Baptist Church, where in earlier years he served as a trustee. He retired from Cone Mills, Carlisle Finishing Plant in 2008 after many years of dedicated service. He later re-entered the work force as a Bailiff for the Union County Courthouse.
