Illa Louise (Johnson) Jones

Illa Louise Johnson Jones, 101, of 509 Pennwood  Drive, Spartanburg, SC passed away Sunday morning, May 30, 2021 at her residence.  A native of Spartanburg County, she was the widow of James Russell Jones, Sr. and the daughter of the late Willie Lee Johnson and Nellie Louise Smith Johnson. Mrs. Jones was a long time member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church and retired from Spartanburg Regional Medical Center after many years of dedicated service.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, James Russell Jones, Jr.; one brother, Joseph Johnson; and five sisters, Octavia Carter, Emma Anderson, Maggie McBeth, Viola Taylor, and Ira Lee Murphy. 

She leaves to cherish precious memories three daughters, Connie Gail Campbell of Inman, SC, Sarah Lee (Larry) Means of Spartanburg, SC, and Emma "Emily" Jones Patton of Atlanta, GA; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends, all of whom will sorely miss her. Arrangements have been entrusted to Community Mortuary, 102 Marion Avenue, Spartanburg SC.
