George Edward Clayton, Sr., 66, entered into eternal rest in Union, SC at his residence. A native of Union County, SC, he was the widower of Grace Hilda Fields "Tuddy" Clayton and the son of the late Edward Eugene Clayton, Sr. and Rosa Lee Parham Clayton. George was a member of St. Paul Baptist Church and a 1975 graduate of Union High School. George was a self- employed carpenter.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Wallace Clayton and Edward Eugene Clayton Jr., two sisters, Alicia “Punkin” Clayton and Sarah Sherman-Morgan.
He is survived by one son, George (Mercedes) Clayton, Sr.; two daughters, Wakela (Dwayne) Clayton Lytle and Candice Janay Clayton (Antonio) Jeter; ten grandchildren, Joshua Clayton, Demarcus Nesbitt, London and Egypt Clayton, Jordan Morman (Rachael), Eriyanna and Everette Porter, Seven Eison, Elijajuan and Tatyana Jeter; bonus grandkids; one great granddaughter, Journee Gracelyn whom he loved all very dearly; four brothers, Ernest D. Clayton, Roy James Jeter, Aaron (Patricia) Parham, Donald Lewis (Terri) Parham, Sr.; two sisters, Minnie Lee Eison and Edna (William) Sims; brother-in-law, Jeffrey (Valarie) Richard; sisters-in-law, Jackie (Gilliam) Smith and Debra Clayton; and a host of nephews, nieces, and cousins.
The family will receive friends at 406 West Henrietta Street, Union, SC. Arrangements are with Community Mortuary, 361 Meansville Road, Union, SC.
