Gennella Cheeks

Ms. Gennella Cheeks, 66, of 101 Marion Avenue Spartanburg, passed away on March 30, 2021 at her residence.  A native of Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late Robert "Billy Lyles and Lula Mae Cheeks Farr.  She joined Macedonia Baptist Church at an early age and was educated in the Spartanburg County.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one son,  Robert James Cheeks.  Those who remain to cherish her memory include one special aunt, Ruth Linder of Spartanburg, SC; three grandsons, Robert J. Cheeks of Spartanburg, SC, Marcus (Holland) Cheeks of Taylors, SC and Tyler (Charelle) Moore Houston of of Charleston, SC; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Chavon Lyles of Spartanburg, SC; two cousins reared in the home, Clarence "Bill" Linder and Louvenia Linder both of Spartanburg, SC; one daughter in law, Maria Cheeks Bradley of Boiling Springs, SC; other relatives and friends.  The family will receive friends at the home of her aunt, 143 Collins Avenue, Spartanburg.  Memorial services will be held 1:00 pm Saturday, April 3, 2021 at Community Mortuary Chapel.  Community Mortuary 102 Marion Avenue is in charge of the arrangements.
