Freeman Thomas Smith

Freeman Thomas Smith, 60, of Spartanburg, SC, passed away on Sunday, September 15, 2024. A native of Eden, NC, he was the son of the late James Francis Smith and Nancy Camp Carpenter.

Freeman graduated from Spartanburg High School, class of 1982. He obtained a bachelor’s degree at ITT Tech. He was formerly employed as a restaurant manager. He was a member of Majority Baptist Church in Spartanburg, SC.

In addition to his parents, Freeman is preceded in death by one brother, Keith Smith.

He leaves to cherish fond memories to his daughter, Peyton Smith; three brothers, Gerald Smith (Valine Powell-Smith), Derek (Regina) Smith, and Reginald (Tameka) Carpenter; two sisters, Janis Smith, and Terri Smith; and a host of nephews, nieces, uncles, aunts, cousins, other relatives and friends all of whom will miss him dearly.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Community Mortuary, Inc., 102 Marion Avenue, Spartanburg, SC.
