Frederick Arnez Jeter affectionately known as “Rico" was born March 10, 1966, A native of Union County, He was the son the late Comer Jeter and Mildred Spencer Stewart.
Frederick “Rico” was a graduate of Union High School in Union, SC. He was awarded a scholarship in baseball and attended Utica Mississippi College in Mississippi and later transferred to North Greenville College in Greenville, SC. He enjoyed playing baseball. He was a great pitcher from grade school, to college, and ultimately as a member of the “Carlisle Sluggers” baseball team. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. He will be remembered for his loving kindness, his love for caring for others, his jokes, cooking, and checking on his family and friends.
Frederick “Rico” entered rest on April 4, 2022, at the age of 56. In addition to his father, Comer Jeter, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jeffrey Neal; his grandfather, Andrew Jeter; his grandmother, Emma J. Hampton; his grandfather, Milton W. Spencer; and his grandmother, Sallie J. Spencer.
He leaves to cherish loving memories his mother, Mildred (Charles) Stewart of Carlisle, SC; two children Roderick A. Barnes of TX and Genice A. Jeter (Branford) Hampton of Columbia, SC; two grandchildren, Maddox K. Hampton and Logan A. Hampton of Columbia, SC; two sisters, Anderia Jeter of Carlisle, SC and Velma (Anthony) Sulgrim of Jersey City, NJ; three stepbrothers, Charles (Cheryl) Stewart, Jr. of Newberry, SC, Timothy (Julia) Stewart of Ocala, FL, and Craig Stewart of Ocala, FL; reared in the home who was like a sister, Sandra Jeter of Columbus, OH; one stepsister, Sandra Jeter Stewart of Jersey City, NJ; a special friend, Ethel L. Hill; and a host of special nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and many others whom he loved dearly. Arrangements are with Community Mortuary, 361 Meansville Road, Union, SC.
