Franklin Gerome Burgess

Franklin Gerome Burgess, 61, of Moore, SC, passed away on Thursday, July 13, 2023, at Spartanburg Medical Center. A native of Spartanburg, SC, he was the husband of Pamela Simmons Burgess and the son of the late Fred Dawkins, Sr. and late Mamie Ruth Wofford.

Mr. Burgess attended Light House Baptist Church and was a self-employed skilled Brick Mason. He graduated from Spartanburg High.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers; Alvin Burgess, Walter Burgess, and Donald Burgess; two sisters; Zora Maxwell, and Delois Fant. 

Mr. Burgess leaves to cherish his wife, Pamela Burgess; two sons, Frederick (Shanae) Burgess, and Cederick (Daznick) Burgess; one daughter, Charlotte Burgess; two grandchildren, Javen Montgomery, and Corbyn Burgess; two brothers, Terry (Ann) Dawkins, and Fred Dawkins Jr.; five sisters, Mamie Dawkins, Kathy (Michael) Bell, Diane Dawkins, Joyce (Gennie) Rogers, and Seena Rookard; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends all of whom will miss his presence.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Community Mortuary, Inc., 102 Marion Avenue, Spartanburg SC.
