Frances Rodgers Dawkins, 99, of 112 Ferguson Lane, Union, SC entered eternal rest on Saturday morning, August 20, 2022. A native of Union County, SC, she was the widow of Phorzene Dawkins, Sr. and the daughter of the late Eddie Rodgers and Viola Elizabeth Robinson Rodgers.
She was a member of Woodson Chapel Baptist Church. She was employed with United Merchants Buffalo Plant and worked at Bantam Chef.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Jerry Dewitt Dawkins; one daughter, Deborah Dawkins Blume; five brothers, Robert Rodgers, Edward Rodgers, Tinnie Rodgers, Timothy Rodgers, and George Rodgers; two sisters, Janie Ross and Viola Washington; one daughter-in-law, Lillian Dawkins; and one son-in-law, Roger Boyd.
She is survived by three sons, Phorzene Dawkins, Jr., Cornell Dawkins, and Melvin Dawkins (Lyndia); three daughters, Inell Boyd, Gloria Jean Dawkins, and Judy Dawkins; one son-in-law, Howard Blume, Sr.; twelve grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 27, 2022 at Woodson Chapel Baptist Church with burial in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at 115 Walnut Street, Union, SC.
Arrangements are with Community Mortuary, 361 Meansville Road, Union, SC.
