Flora Mae Buckson, 83, of Spartanburg, SC, passed away on Monday, June 10, 2024. A native of Spartanburg County, Flora Mae was born on January 29, 1941. She was the widow of Joe Buckson and the daughter of both the late Frank W. Spencer, and Leathia Floyd Spencer.
Flora Mae was educated in Spartanburg County Schools. She was employed as a machine operator at Mayfair Mills for many years. She attended Foster Grove Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband, and parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Smiley Spencer, Frank Spencer, Jr., and Thomas L. Stevenson.
Those left to cherish fond memories are two brothers, Arthur (Michelle) Spencer, and Clarence Spencer; sister, Shirley Spencer Johnson Lecounte; god-daughter, Patricia Bobo; god-son, Quincey Edwards; nieces, Sheila Rookard, Annice Statin, Shenika Johnson, April Chamberlain and Mia Gentry; nephews, Termaine Spencer, Jermaine Spencer, Ty’Jae McClurkin, and Dyquan Gentry; stepchildren; Carlos A. Buckson, Vivian Buckson Savage, Joe L. Buckson, Denise B. Dalton, Michael A. Buckson, Clarissa E. Buckson, and Timothy T. Buckson; and a host of other cousins, other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Community Mortuary, Inc., 102 Marion Avenue, Spartanburg, SC.
