Ernell Letroy "Troy" Barrett, Jr.

Ernell Letroy “Troy” Barrett, 48, of 119 Barrett Drive, Union, SC passed away on December 29, 2020.  A native of Union county, SC he was the husband of Laura Ann Davis Barrett and the son of Ernell Barrett, Sr. and Dorothy McBeth Barrett.  He was a member of New Hope AME Zion Church and an employee of Boiler Tube Company of America.  He was a 1990 graduate of Union High SC and Spartanburg Community College.  He served four years in the US Navy.  He was an avid Dallas Cowboys and Carolina Gamecock fan.  Survivors in addition to his wife and parents include two daughters, Jahmiya Barrett and Jahnaye Barrett; three grandchildren, Keiston Bishop, Jr., Kanon Bishop, and Kaace Bishop; one brother, Reverend Brian (Kesha) Barrett; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.  Graveside services will be held Sunday, January 3, 2021 at  2:00 pm at New Hope AME Zion Church Cemetery. Reverend Iris Evans Kennedy will officiate.  The family will received friends at the home. Arrangements are with Community Mortuary, 361 Meansville Road, Union, SC.
