Elsie Mae (Patton) Williams

Elsie Mae Patton Williams, 85, of Spartanburg, SC passed away Tuesday morning, August 31, 2021. A native of Spartanburg County, SC, she was the widow of Roy Williams, Jr. and the daughter of the late James Patton, Sr. and Carrie Johnnie Irene Long Patton.  She attebded Carver High School and was a member of Lewis Chapel Baptist Church.  She worked as a seamstress.  In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Carrie Elizabeth Patton Moss and Gwendolyn Elaine Glenn, and a grandson, Brandon Joseph Davenport.  She is survived by two sons, Dennis Earl Williams and Roy Dean Williams; two daughters, Deborah Williams Davenport and Jacqueline Williams Wilkins; two grandchildren, Brian Davenport (Latoya) and Deyah Rechea Williams; one great-grandchild; one brother, the Reverend James Patton, Jr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.  The family will receive friends at 20 Pine Ridge Court, Spartanburg, SC.  Arrangements are with Community Mortuary, Inc., 102 Marion Avenue, Spartanburg, SC.
