Obituary

Edith Rutherford Ryan, 87, widow of James Ryan, Sr. passed away Thursday, September 7, 2023 in  Weillcornell Hospital in Manhattan, NY. Mrs Ryan was born on November 20,1935, daughter of the late William and Mamie Rutherford.

Surviving are five sons Jerome (Marie) Rutherford of Union, SC, David Foster of Newport News, VA, James. Jr, Steve, and William Ryan all of Manhattan, NY; two daughters, Gayle (the late Robert) Salter of Union, SC and Brenda Ryan of Manhattan, NY; grandchildren, Carlos (Etta) Sullivan of San Antonio, TX and Raven Rutherford, Robert, Jr., and Kevin Salter all of Union, SC, Christy Rutherford of the Bahamas, Kenyon Rutherford of Simpsonville, SC, Deshawn Thomas, Stephen, Nykiaha, Aliza, William Eric and Xzavier Ryan of Manhattan, NY, and Jason Ryan of TX; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Johnson of Ambridge, PA; brother-in-law, Pedro Royer of Union, SC and 

Pauline of Indiana: and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predecessed by a brother, David Rutherford and sisters, Mamie Farr and Julia Rutherford Royer.

A memorial service has been arranged by the family. For those who wish to commemorate her life, service time and location have been announced below.
