Deacon Earl West, Jr. a.k.a “Jack West” son of the late Earl and Carrie Wallace West of Union, South Carolina was born on July 19, 1935, in Union County, South Carolina. He attended Union County Schools and was a member and Deacon of Lewis Chapel Baptist Church, Glendale, South Carolina.
Earl West, Jr., started his early trucking days with Standard and retired from Yellow Trucking Company after many years of service.
He was proceeded in death by his wife of sixty-years and a grandson reared in the home, Michael B. West; followed by three sisters, JoAnn Barton, Earlene Wofford, and Evelyn Fowler; and two brothers, Earnest West and E.W. Beatty.
In 1953, he married the late Naomi Wright West where they had four children. He leaves to cherish fond and loving memories to his sons; John Earl and Ricky Lynn West “Ruby;” and two daughters, Betty Jo Newman, and Minnie L. West all of Spartanburg, SC.
He is survived by sisters, Carrie Mae Meadows, Colleen Buckson and Brenda Miller. He leaves to cherish ten grandchildren, fourteen great grands and seven great great grands; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins whom will miss him dearly.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Community Mortuary, Inc., 102 Marion Avenue, Spartanburg, SC.
