Dwight “Durite” Savage, 65, of Union, SC, passed away on Sunday, November 30, 2025, at Spartanburg Medical Center. A native of Carlisle, SC, he was the son of the late James Wilson Savage and Mary Elizabeth Smith Savage.
Dwight was a graduate of Union High School, class of 1978. He was employed at J. P. Stevens Company as a Supervisor.
He grew up attending Williams Chapel AME Zion Church in Carlisle, SC. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. He was a kind man and a true friend to all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, William Coryie Savage, Floyd Savage, Gary Savage, and Robert Savage.
Dwight leaves precious memories to his wife, Vivian Glenn-Savage; one daughter, Chekesha Glenn, one granddaughter, Sydney Smith; one brother, Ricky (Kimberly) Savage; five sisters, Ernestine (James) Sims, Ora Jean Savage, Mary (Barry) Fogle, Jaqueline Savage Hardy and Temika Savage; three sisters-in-law, Reverend Gloria Fleming, Diane Savage, and Dot Land; close friends, Bruce Thompson, Richard Agnew, James Willie Sims, Rufus Jeter, Perry Whitner, and Mary Tucker; friend - Ernest Clayton and Pamela Jeter Watson and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends, all of whom will miss him dearly.
Arrangements have been entrusted with Community Mortuary, Inc., 361 Meansville Road, Union, SC.
