Douglas Beaty

Douglas Lee Beaty, Sr., 69, of 106 Jeffries Place, Union, SC, passed away June 21, 2021, at his residence.  A native of Union County, SC, he was the husband of Earline Bowser Beaty of the home and son of the late Willie Beaty, Jr and Ethel Davis Beaty.  He was a member of Corinth Baptist Church.  He served as a Deacon, member of the Adult Choir, Sunday School, and worked with the Culinary Committee.  He recently received the Level I Certificate from the Pacolet River Baptist Congress of Christian Education.  He was a 1971 graduate of Union High School and was retired from the textile industry.  In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by five brothers, Willie "Leggs" Beaty, III, James Beaty, Johnny Beaty, David "Egg Booty" Beaty, and Harold Darnell "Cat" Beaty, Sr; and one sister, Mary Lucille Beaty.  Survivors in addition to his wife one son, Douglas Lee (Felicia) Beaty, Jr. of Union, SC; one daughter, Trina D. (Henery) Wagstaff of Columbia, SC; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Paul (Shirley) Beaty of Lexington, SC and Michael (Darlene) Beaty both of Union, SC; one sister Brenda (Minister Elgusta) Wright of Union, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.  The family will receive friends at the home. Arrangements are with Community Mortuary Inc., 361 Meansville Road, Union, SC.
