CARLISLE, SC – Dorothy Dean Kelly Spencer, 97, of 115 Carlisle Street passed on October 9, 2024. A native of Carlisle, SC, she was the widow of Deacon Mike Spencer, Sr., and daughter of the late Emanuel Kelly and Leola Jeter Kelly.
She was a member of Outreach Deliverance Church. She retired from the Union County School District in 1987.
In addition to her husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by one son, Joe William Kelly; two granddaughters, Beverly Kelly Means, and Monica Frost; and two brothers, Emanuel Kelly, Jr., and Robert Lee Kelly.
Survivors left to cherish precious and fond memories include four sons, Mike J. (Dianne) Spencer, Jr., Mark Kent Spencer, and Keith O'Bryant (Evangelist Maxine) Spencer all of Carlisle, SC, and Rev. Charles E. (Lauren) Spencer of Dayton, OH; two daughters, Carolyn Spencer Hardy and Kathy Spencer (Pastor Eddie) McConnell both of Carlisle, SC; one brother, William Ray Kelly of Capitol Heights, MD; thirty-one grandchildren; sixty-one great-grandchildren and twenty-nine great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 19, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Outreach Deliverance Church with burial in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the home. Arrangements are with the Community Mortuary, Inc., 361 Meansville Road, Union, SC.
