Dorothy Ann Chisholm Farr, 80, of Union, SC, peacefully entered eternal rest on Sunday morning, April 6, 2025. A native of Chester County, SC, she was the wife of Reverend James E. Farr, Jr. and daughter of the late James Chisholm, Sr., and Carrie Bell Denton Chisholm Cheek.
Dorothy graduated from Finley High School in Chester County, class of 1962. She furthered her education, earning an associate’s degree at Cecil Business College in Spartanburg, SC. In 2003, she retired as the founder and owner of Farrs Clerical and Copy Service. She was a faithful member of Flint Hill Baptist Church in Whitmire, SC.
In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by five brothers, James Chisholm, Alvin Chisholm, Edward Chisholm, Clark Chisholm, Donald Chisholm; and one sister, Ethel Maldonado.
Dorothy leaves to cherish fond memories, with her husband, Reverend James E. Farr, Jr.; four sons, Arnold (Gisley) Farr, Timothy Farr, Vincent “Neal” (Altricia) Farr, James “Jay” (Kuterah) Farr; six foster children; eight grandchildren, Amahlia Perry-Farr, Louisa Perry-Farr, Thea Perry Farr, Kalib K. Farr, Isaiah Perry Farr, Khalil Peake, Ilani “Pop” Farr, Kaleb N. Farr; one great-granddaughter, Inali “Pearl” Farr; two sisters Rosa Lee (Robert) Knight, and Carrie Ella (Charlie) Gallman; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends of the community, all of whom will miss her dearly.
Arrangements are with Community Mortuary, Inc. 361 Meansville Road, Union, SC.
