Doris Sarah Walker

Mrs. Doris Sarah Bivings Walker, 95, of Spartanburg, SC, passed away on Thursday, September 12, 2024, at Magnolia Manor of Spartanburg, SC. A native of Spartanburg, SC, she was the widow of Mr. Purvis Walker and daughter of the late Ezell Bivings, Sr., and Fannie Mae Parks Bivings.

Mrs. Walker graduated from Carver High School, class of 1945. She retired as a skilled seamstress after many years of service. She lived in Philadelphia, PA for several years until later moving with her husband to Peekskill, NY. After her husband passed away in 2013, she came to Spartanburg, SC, to live with her sister and family. When her sister passed away in 2020, she continued to live with her two nieces until her passing. She was affectionately known to many as “Aunt Doris.” She loved watching tv and movies.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Mr. Ezell Bivings, Jr., and Timothy Melvin Bivings; and one sister, Ms. Elenora Delores Bivings.

She leaves fond memories to her two nieces who were also her caregivers, Ms. Doris Annette Bivings, and Ms. Christina Lucette Bivings; and many other nieces and nephews, who will miss her dearly.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Community Mortuary, Inc., 102 Marion Avenue, Spartanburg, SC.
