Doris Lee (Rountree) Lawson

Doris Lee Rountree Lawson was born in Millen, GA on Thursday, February 8, 1940. She departed this life on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at her home. She was the wife of Robert Lee Lawson, Jr., and daughter of the late James Edward Rountree and Elmae Lee Rountree.

Doris was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She worked hard spiritually and physically for her family. She graduated from A.R. Johnson High School in Augusta, GA.

Doris was a very loving, caring mother and grandma. She always thought of others and helped whenever she could. She was a compassionate listener, and she always gave good spiritual advice. She will be dearly missed by many!

In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her son, Robin Levert Lawson; brother, Larry Rountree; and three sisters, Gladys Rountree, Annie Bell Rountree, and Geraldean Knight.

She leaves to cherish precious and fond memories: her husband, Robert Lee Lawson, Jr.; four sons, Terry Lee Lawson, Robert Lee, (Brenda) Lawson, III, Guy (Linda) Lawson, Kirk (Vickie) Lawson; one daughter, Ella Louise (Allen) Conway; thirteen grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; and many great-great-grandchildren; four brothers, James Rountree, Stoney Rountree, Standers Rountree, and Michael Rountree; four sisters, Everjean (Joseph) Williamson, Betty Dover, Cherry Rountree, and Sheila Rountree; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends who will miss her dearly.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Community Mortuary, Inc., 361 Meansville Road, Union, SC.
