Obituary

Devantae Alzondrae JuWan Griffin was born on January 26, 1994, in Spartanburg County, SC. He was the son of Felecia Renee Griffin and the late John Albert Davis.

Devantae was a 2012 graduate of Dorman High School with a 3.7 GPA. He received a scholarship to attend college. He studied accounting and entrepreneurship. He recently acquired his CDL permit. He was an employee of Magna Seating of South Carolina.

Devantae enjoyed spending time with family and friends, listening to Old School music, going to the lake, taking rides, and meeting people. He loved fast cars with loud engines.

 He leaves precious memories to his mother, Felecia Griffin; stepfather, Marvin Smith; his siblings, Zachorian Marquez Rashad Griffin, Dontavius Diante Quantez Smith, Roderick Hawkins,  Rodney Boyd, Katina “Teena Mac” McDowell, Jasmine Hawkins, and Julius Tolbert; uncles, Jimmy Davis, Charles Davis, Sammy Davis, and James “June” Davis; aunts, Roslind Anderson, Beverly Griffin, Latasha Griffin, Bridgette Hill,  Lula Mae Williams, and Betty Durante; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Devantae was predeceased by his father, John Albert Davis; brother, Eric “Peanut” Norman; maternal grandmother, Elaine Eloise Anderson Griffin; maternal grandfather, Eugene Griffin; paternal grandparents, Thomas Davis and Rosa Hill Davis; uncles, Kenneth “Kent” Davis, Robert Davis, Prof Davis, Sr., and Lonnie Davis; and one aunt, Sarah Davis.

The family will receive friends at 116 Kelly Farm Road, Moore, SC. Arrangements are with Community Mortuary, Inc., 102 Marion Avenue, Spartanburg, SC.
