Deacon Melvin Dean Suber, Sr.

Deacon Melvin Dean "Mel" Suber, Sr. passed away Thursday morning May 7, 2020 at the Spartanburg Medical Center.  A native of Union County, SC, he was the son of the late Lawyer Suber Sr. and Mattie Suber.  He was the husband of Mrs. Danielle Felicia Nobles Suber. He was a graduate of Sims High School in Union County.  Mr. Suber was a member and deacon of James Chapel Baptist Church in Carlisle, SC.  He was retired from United Parcel Service (UPS) where he was a delivery driver.  He leaves to cherish his fond memories with his wife; one son, Melvin Dean (Katrina) Suber, Jr. of West Columbia, SC; one daughter, Saisha Suber of Lyman, SC; one brother, Orson (Carolyn) Suber of Queens, NY; and five sisters, Sadie Fillyaw, Harriett Sims, Carolyn Mayfield, Ira Williams, and Minnie Pearl Griffin all of Carlisle, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other loving relatives and friends.  The family is at the home, 4502 King Kennedy Street, Carlisle, SC.  Community Mortuary Inc. 361 Meansville Road, Union, SC is in charge of the arrangements.
