Deacon Herman Joseph Waddell, age 93, of Chesnee, SC entered eternal rest on Sunday, January 17, 2021 at Woodruff Manor Nursing Facility. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lula Durrah Waddell. He had the honor of serving as an active member of the New Bedford Baptist Church for many years. Left to cherish his memory are his children, Pastor Doris Waddell Landrum, Deacon Herman Converse Waddell and wife Bena, Betty Waddell Hines and Mae Waddell Robinson; 16 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren, special acknowledgement to his sister, Mildred Sartor and host of in-laws, relatives and friends. The family would like to extend a special thank you to everyone at Woodruff Manor Nursing Facility for their compassionate care of Deacon Herman and constant communication to the family. Words can not express our heart felt appreciation to the New Bedford Baptist Church family and our beloved community family. Due to COVID-19 Pandemic and to honor the request of his children, a private graveside Celebration of Life officiated by Pastor Willie Thurman will be held. Arrangements are with Community Mortuary, 102 Marion Avenue, Spartanburg, SC.
