David Kent Rice

David Kent Rice, 60, of Whitmire, SC passed away on Monday, July 18, 2022, at his residence. A native of Whitmire, SC, he was the son of the late James Edward Curenton, Sr. and Sarah Louise Rice.  He was a 1981 graduate of Whitmire High School and was self employed as a professional carpenter, painter, and landscaper. Most recently, he was employed at Epps Lawn Care.

Mr. Rice was preceded in death by one sister, Beverly Curenton Cohen and his step-mother, Gracie Mae Dawkins Curenton.

He leaves to mourn his passing five brothers, James Curtis (Paula) Rice and Michael Patrick (Patricia) Rice, both of Union, SC; James Edward Curenton, Jr., Spartanburg, SC; Danny Joe Rice, of the home; and Ray Charles (Debra) Rice, Philadelphia, PA; three sisters, Patricia Rice Jeter and Teresa Rice (Randy) Epps, both of Whitmire, SC; and Sarah Jo (Richard) Burkes of Union, SC; three nephews reared in the home, Regginal Bernard (Sheree) Jeter, Daniel Curtis (Natalia) Rice, and David Allen (Charlene) Jeter; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends, all of whom will miss him dearly. 

Arrangements have been entrusted to Community Mortuary, Inc., Union, SC.
