Christopher Rutherford

Christopher William “Spark Plug” Rutherford, 71, of Union SC, passed away on Saturday, September 7, 2024, in Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. A native of Union County, he was the son of the late William Rutherford (Mamie Williams Rutherford) and the late Julia Mae Rutherford Royer (Pedro Royer, Sr.).

He was a member of the Union Church of Christ and a graduate of Union High School. He was a self-employed construction worker.

He is survived by his dad; Pedro Royer, Sr; three brothers, Cleveland (Charesse) Rutherford, Fred Royer, and Pedro Royer, Jr.; three sisters, Debra (the late Dennis) Wilson, Carolyn Rutherford (LeRoy) Harris, and Annette (Eugene) Smith; cousins reared in the home, Gayle Salter, and Jerome (Marie) Rutherford; special friend, Sally Holliwinski; special friends, Arthur Barrett, David Jeter, Conell Dawkins, Stanley Jeter; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends who will miss his presence.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Community Mortuary, Inc., 361 Meansville Road, Union, SC.
