Christoper L Steward affectionately known as “Bugaloo,” was born on October 17, 1960, and was a native of Union County, SC. He was the son of Freddie (Patricia) Steward and the late Wilhelmina Crosby Samuel, He was reared in the home of his beloved grandmother, the late Fannie Mae Steward. He passed away on April 30, 2024.
Christopher was a proud graduate of Union High School Class of 1978, where his love for auto mechanics began. After high school, “Bugaloo” began a career as a mechanic with M & M Chevrolet, which lasted for ten years, until he began to explore the world of Long Haul/OTR Driving. His passion and undeniable gift for fixing cars earned him the reputation of being the “Know it All” Mechanic.
“Bugaloo” was preceded in death by his brother, William Crawford and leaves to cherish fond memories his wife, Daisy L. Steward and son Christopher Rashad Steward; siblings: Michelle Thomas of Aberdeen, MD, Gwen Jefferies of Spartanburg, SC, and Lamar Steward, Columbia, SC; one aunt; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
