Carolyn Cook, 80, of Pacolet, SC passed away on Friday night, July 28, 2023, in Spartanburg Medical Center. A native of Pacolet, SC., she was the daughter of the late Arthur Anderson and Elizabeth Cook.
She was a member of New Salem Zion Baptist Church and a 1960 graduate of the former Benjamin E. Mays High School. After graduation, she migrated to New Jersey where she worked in the textile industry. She retired from Burlington Industries in New York, NY after many years of service. After retiring she returned to her native home and worked in healthcare.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Roger Cook.
She leaves precious memories to her son, Marlon V. Cook and his wife, Agata; two grandchildren, Kenneth Cook and Alessandra Cook; one sister, Virginia Geter; a special cousin, Irene Cook; other cousins who were like sisters, Vera Anderson-Ware and Thomascena Crawford; Joni Ware, her Oprah; special friends, Nannie Shands, Annie Lindsey, and Doris Peeler, and Al Defreece; and a host of other relatives and friends all of whom will miss her dearly.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at 12:00 noon at Pacolet Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are with Community Mortuary, Inc., 102 Marion Avenue, Spartanburg, SC.
