Calnell Neil Brown, 73, of Spartanburg, SC, was born on October 20, 1950 and passed away on July 18, 2024, in Spartanburg, SC. A native of Cherokee County, SC, he was the son of the late Vanderbilt Brown, Sr. and Nancy Shippy Brown. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Fred Shippy and Vanderbilt Brown, Jr., and one sister, Rosa Shippy Richardson.
Calnell was a retired Maintenance Technician at White Oak Manor. He was affectionately known as “Crow” by his family. He was always a joy to be around, and made sure he told everyone he loves them and he is praying for them. He will be missed greatly.
Left to cherish many fond memories is his loving family; two sons, Mr. Eric Brown (Teixeira) of Boiling Springs, SC, and Mr. Corneilius Brown of Spartanburg, SC; two daughters, Ms. Kimberly Brown (Jerrell) of Spartanburg, SC and Ms. Jessica Brown of Inman, SC; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Mr. Ricky Brown; two sisters, Ms. Delores Simpson of Spartanburg, SC and Mrs. Linda Dewberry of Providence, RI; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends, .
Arrangements have been entrusted to Community Mortuary Inc., 102 Marion Avenue, Spartanburg, SC.
