Sunrise:
Brenda Ann Beaty Wright, 76, of 414 Sparrowridge Lane, Greer SC and formerly of 122 Wright-Sims Rd, Union, SC for more than 50 years, was born on May 6, 1949, the 6th child, to the late Willie and Ethel Davis Beaty. A native of Union County, SC, she was the wife of Minister Elgusta Wright, Jr.
A Life Well Spent:
Brenda met the love of her life Elgusta “Gus” Wright, Jr. at Sims High School and they were married on June 15, 1969. To that union, two children were born.
Brenda was a born-again Christian and long-time member of Mt. Rowell Baptist Church, where she served in numerous auxiliaries over the years, until her health began to decline and she moved to Greer. She was a former member of Floyd Wilkes Chapter No. 208 OES which later merged with Enterprise Chapter No.105 in 2018.
A 1967 graduate of Sims High School, she attended New Jersey City Job Corps and Spartanburg Technical College. Brenda worked for over two decades for Conso Products and United Merchants-Buffalo Plant. Upon becoming disabled, Brenda supported her husband and sons’ business enterprises as partner and bookkeeper. In addition, she took an active role in caretaking for her elderly mother until her death.
Sunset:
Brenda transitioned from labor to reward in the early morning hours on October 25, 2025 after a period of declining health.
She was the last surviving daughter of ten children. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by six brothers: Willie Beaty III, James Beaty, Johnny Beaty, David Beaty, Harold Beaty and Douglas Beaty; one sister: Mary Lucille Beaty.
Those Who Remain:
In addition to her husband, Elgusta Wright, Jr. of Greer, SC, she is survived by two children: Veronica Renee (Timothy) Brown and Darren (Christie) Wright, both of Greenville, SC; five grandchildren, Morgan Brown, Joshua Brown, Makayla Strozier, Jayden Taylor, and Maddison Wright; one great-grandchild, Mylah Barber; two brothers, Paul (Shirley) Beaty of Lexington, SC and Michael (Darlene) Beaty of Union, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
