Brenda Marietta (Martin) McDowell

Brenda McDowell, 68, of Spartanburg, SC passed away December 7, 2020 at her residence.  A native of Spartanburg, SC she was the widow of Roy McDowell and daughter of the late Thomas Meadows, Jr.  and Emma Mae Martin Meadows.  She was a member of Moore's Chapel Baptist Church in Moore, SC where she served as an usher and Sunday School teacher.  She was a 1970 graduate of Carver High School.  She attended Rutledge College and Spartanburg Community College.  She was employed as a nurse for over twenty-five years.  In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Carl Meadows and James Melvin Meadows; and one sister, Carolyn Meadows Fowler.  She is survived by one son, Kareem McDowell; three grandchildren, Austin McDowell, Caleb McDowell, and Kamryn McDowell; two brothers, Clarence (Helen) Martin and Thomas Terry (Annie) Meadows; one sister, Sarah Meadows Suber; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.  Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 13, 2020 at Moores Chapel Baptist Church, 198 Hobbysville Road, Roebuck, SC.  Arrangements are with Community Mortuary, 102 Marion Avenue, Spartanburg, SC.
