Audrey Lanette (Moss) Houston

Audrey Lanette Moss Houston of Columbia, SC and formerly of Spartanburg, SC passed away on Thursday, October 5, 2023, in Spartanburg Medical Center. 

A native of Spartanburg County, she was the daughter of Elouise Hill Moss of Spartanburg, SC and the late Sumpter David Moss. 

Audrey was a 1982 graduate of Spartanburg High School and received her undergraduate degree from South Carolina State University and a master’s degree from Webster University. She was retired as a counselor with the SC Department of Juvenile Justice, after many years of dedicated service. She was a member of Brookland Baptist Church of West Columbia, SC. She was also a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Joni Taylor Houston.  Audrey leaves precious and endearing memories to her beloved daughter, Kelsey Jonae Houston of Charlotte, NC; her devoted mother, Elouise Moss of Spartanburg, SC; two brothers, Patrick Keith Moss, Sr. (Iris) and Spencer Melvin Moss; and a host of special cousins, other loving relatives, and friends, all of whom were dear to her.

The family will receive friends at 154 Lincoln Drive, Spartanburg, SC.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Community Mortuary, Inc.,102 Marion Avenue, Spartanburg, SC.
