Anderson Talley Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of Anderson Talley announces his passing on Sunday, March 24, 2024, at the age of 24, after a lifelong battle with Cerebral Palsy.

Although Anderson’s life was fraught with challenges that rendered him immobile and unable to verbally communicate, he was a joyful spirit with an infectious smile and laugh who found pleasure in and expressed gratitude for the smallest of things and gestures like receiving helium balloons and being wheeled around on his deck.

Anderson also loved music and sit dancing to Berry White songs, movies, his globe light, walks in the park, taking rides in his van, super hero animated cartoons, the beach and feeling ocean water waves on his body, swings, swimming and simply sitting on the front porch on a beautiful sunny day.  But most of all, he enjoyed the attention and affection of his sister and the pampering of a head to toe Spa Day with all the works!  He had a vibrant personality that the disabilities of Cerebral Palsy could not hinder.

Anderson was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Ann Marie Puller and his maternal grandfather, Willard Burton.  He is survived and will be lovingly remembered by his mother and primary caregiver, Carol Puller -Talley, his baby sister, Kameron Talley, both residents of Inwood, WV, his father, Kendall Talley, who resides in SC, his paternal grandmother, Gladys Talley, paternal grandfather and namesake, Anderson “Sylvester” Talley, who reside in SC, aunts Kristi Talley, (GA) and Letisha Brown, (Alex) of WV, uncles Wayne Puller, Keenan Puller, (Elizabeth) and Aaron Puller, (Danielle), all residents of WV and a host of extended family of great aunts, great uncles and cousins.  As well as a professional support community of doctors, therapists, aids, caregivers, nurses, teachers, neighbors and friends.  He was well known throughout his community.

He had an infectious smile that lit up any room. He was loved unconditionally and had a purity of spirt, an inner light that touched people when in his presence. His profound energy pierced your heart in spite of his inability to walk or speak.  His beautiful eyes, smile, energy and facial expressions were his unspoken language.  Pure love dwelled within him. He had a spirit of protection and honor over him and often times “The Most High God” used him to teach nurses and caregivers how to treat and bless patients that followed after him.

A funeral service in memory of Anderson will be held at Eackles -Spencer & Norton Funeral Home located at 256 Halltown Road, Harpers Ferry, WV, on Monday, April 1, 2024 at 1:30 P.M. with Reverend Jeffery Berry officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant View Memory Gardens.

Family will receive friends on Sunday, March 31, 2024 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
