Alan Darnell Cheek

Alan Darnell Cheek, 54, of Spartanburg, SC passed away February 26, 2020 at his residence.  A native of Union County, he was the husband of Veronica Morman Cheek and the son of Curtis Smith and the late Ethel Lee Cheek.  He was a member of Saint Paul Baptist Church and a 1984 graduate of Union High School and a graduate South Carolina State University (SCSU).  He served in the Army National Guard in Union, SC.  He was a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers.  He was preceded in death by a sister, Anita Booker.  He leaves fond memories to his wife; father; two daughters, Kenyatta Darcell Cheek and Myeisha Lashawna Cheek both of Union, SC; two brothers, Patrick Garner (Carolyn) and Terry Brandon both of Union, SC; three sisters, Teresa Brandon of Union, SC, Lisa Brandon of Union, SC, and Timika Thomson of Greenville, SC; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.  The family will receive friends at the home of his aunt, Patricia (John) Hooker, 422 Blue Ridge Road, Union, SC.  Arrangements are with Community Mortuary, 361 Meansville Road, Union, SC.
