Ada Mae (Thomas) Simpson

Ada Mae Thomas Simpson, 77, of Spartanburg, SC passed away Tuesday afternoon, February 2, 2021 in Spartanburg Medical Center.  A native of Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late Henry Thomas and Mary Edwards Thomas.  She was a member of Mount Moriah Baptist Church and a former employee of the Piedmont Club.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Tommy Lee Thomas, Walter Thomas, James Thomas, and Bobby Lee Thomas and two sisters, Shirley Hughes and Yvonne Thomas.  She is survived by two sons, Albert James Cothran and Jasper (Margaret) Cothran; one daughter, Jacqueline Cothran; six grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; three brothers, John Thomas, Charles Thomas, and Michael Thomas; one sister, Mary Martin; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.  Graveside services will be held 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at Heritage Memorial Gardens.  Arrangements are with Community Mortuary, 102 Marion Avenue, Spartanburg, SC.
