Ruth Ann (Farr) Tucker

Ruth Ann Farr Tucker, 69, of 304 Brockman Heights, Union, SC passed away Tuesday morning, December 31, 2019 at her residence.  A native of Union County, SC, she was the widow of Ivory Tucker and daughter of Annie Pearl Walton Farr of Union, SC and the late Wallace Anderson Farr.   She was first married to the late Paul Hooker, Sr.  She was a 1968 graduate of Sims High School and attended Cecil’s Business College.  She was retired from the Timken Company. She was an active member of the Monarch Baptist Church having served as financial secretary, treasurer, usher, missionary, choir member, and trustee.  Survivors in addition to her mother include three sons, Steve Leroy “Petey” Farr (Modestine) of Union, SC, Christopher Alan Farr (Pamela) of Pacolet, SC, and Paul Hooker, Jr. of the home; five grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; one brother, Gary Farr (Lisa) of Union, SC; two sisters, Willie Ethel “Wilma” (Frank) Goode of Union, SC and Dorothy Tina (Larry) Stevens of Union, SC; three brothers in-law, Howard (Phyllis) Tucker of Carlisle, SC, Willie Lewis (Sarah) Tucker of Union, SC, and Joseph (Debra) Tucker of Clinton, MD; two sisters-in-law, Barbara Ann (Stanley) Bowser of Chester, SC and Mary Tucker; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends including special friends, James Harris, Harriet Harris, Betsy Thompson, Jimmy Boler, and Betty Holmes; and her devoted caregiver, Caroline Briggs.  Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 5, 2020 at Community Mortuary with burial in Rosemont Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the home.  Arrangements are with Community Mortuary, 361 Meansville Road, Union, SC.
