Paul Gene Kelly

Paul Gene Kelly, of 143 Rook Road, Union, SC passed Sunday afternoon, July 14, 2019.  He was born on March 2, 1953, a native of Union, SC. On June 26, 1992, he married Sharon Deloise Glenn. Together they had one daughter. Sharon and Paul enjoyed traveling together, as well as spending time with the grandchildren, and other family members and friends. He is survived by his beloved wife of twenty-seven years and was the son of the late William Kelly and Molly Green Kelly.  He was a graduate of Union High School and was retired from Monarch Mills after thirty years.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded by one son, Paul Gene Thompson; one daughter, Tammy Catrice Thompson; and three sisters, Betty Booker, Effie Kelly, and Bessie Sanders.  In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Joslin Kelly of the home, Taleeta Kelly, Tonya (Kenneth) Tucker, all of Union, SC; twelve grandchildren; Jordan O’shea Kelly and Adrian Paul Kelly of the home; four great-grandchildren; four brothers, Jesse (Mary) Kelly, Carl Dawkins, and Albert Lee Dawkins, Lavender Dawkins of Union, SC; four sisters, Helen Degraphenreid, Rosa Rice, Mattie Pearl Dawkins, and Drucilla Dawkins all of Union, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 2, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Saint Paul Baptist Church, 308 Wallace Street, Union, SC.  The family will receive friends at the home of Sundres Glenn on Wednesday and Thursday at 218 South Mountain Street, Union, SC.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Community Mortuary, 361 Meansville Road, Union, SC.
