James Anthony "Ankie" Anderson

James Anthony "Ankie" Anderson, 61, of 295 East Pearl Street, Spartanburg, SC passed away Wednesday night, December 25, 2019 in White Oak Manor Nursing Home Spartanburg.  A native of Spartanburg County, SC, he was the son of the late John Willie Anderson, Sr. and Clara Bernard Anderson.  He was preceded in death by two sisters, Elaine Griffin and Clara Means.  He was a a 1976 graduate of Dorman High School and served in the US Army.  He was a former textile employee.  He is survived by one daughter, Sheritta Boler of Spartanburg, SC; one granddaughter, Jennifer Boler of Spartanburg, SC; two brothers, John Willie (Linda) Anderson, Jr. of Fostoria, OH and DeWayne (Altie) Anderson of Spartanburg, SC; one sister, Barbara (Purvis) Walker of Wellford, SC; three stepchildren, Travis A. Richardson, LaRonda R. Richardson, and Kenya M. Richardson and their mother, Cathy Williams of Spartanburg, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.  Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, December 29, 2019 at First Baptist Church of Fairforest with burial in the Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the home of his brother, DeWayne (Altie) Anderson, 557 Frey Road, Spartanburg, SC.  Arrangements are with Community Mortuary, 102 Marion Avenue, Spartanburg, SC.
