Danny Hills Smith

Danny Hills Smith, 60, of 652 East 7th Street, Erie, PA entered eternal rest June 24, 2019 at Spartanburg Medical Center.  A native of Nassau County, NY, he was the husband of Cynthia Copeland Smith.  He was the son of the late Helen Beatrice Rebecca Tucker and Hills Evans Smith.  He attended New Pilgrim Baptist Church.  He was also a US Army veteran.  While in the army, he was a motor vehicle operator, a machine gun specialist and a boer.  Mr. Smith was an electrician by trade.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Desmond Smith and by one brother, Harold Lee Tucker.  Those who remain to cherish his loving memory along with his wife of fourteen years include three sons, Derian Rashad Smith of Erie, PA, Deveke Mitchell of Spartanburg, SC and Devaughn Rogers of Georgia; one step-daughter, Katisha (Adolphus Jr.) Hardy of Inman, SC; one aunt, Elizabeth Woodard of Moore, SC; one nephew, Dewayne Tucker of Columbia, SC; two cousins reared as brothers, Johnny Tolliver and Lewis (Debra) James both of Spartanburg, SC; special friends, Dave Carter and George Mitchell both of Spartanburg, SC; and a host of other relatives and friends.  The family will receive friends at the home of his cousin, Lewis and Debra James, 373 Winsmith Avenue, Spartanburg, SC.  Memorial services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 30, 2019 at Community Mortuary Chapel.  Arrangements are entrusted to Community Mortuary, Inc., 102 Marion Avenue, Sparanburg, SC.
