Clarence Jerome “Bae” Crute was born on April 21, 1955 in Richmond, Virginia. He departed this earthly life after a brief illness at his residence on December 24, 2019. Clarence was the son of the late William Crute and Mary St. John (Crute). He was preceded in death by his first wife, Rozina Aikers (Crute). Clarence was educated in the Richmond public school system. He was currently employed with Adidas in Spartanburg, SC for the last 11 years. While residing in New Jersey, he met Alice S. Adams. They were happily married in 2004. To their union, a son was born, Clarence Jerome Adams-Crute Jr. Clarence was a very warm, kind, loving, and friendly person who had a great devotion for family and friends. Clarence grew up in the church and sang in the youth choir. In his adult years, Clarence is fondly remembered for singing his favorite song, “Never Would Have Made It.” Clarence leaves to cherish his memory, his devoted wife Alicia Adams Crute; son, Clarence Jerome Adams-Crute Jr; son, Spartanburg, SC; son, Javon Alexander; daughter, Kesha Alexander; three great grandchildren, seven grandchildren; brother, William Crute; sister, Laura “Doray” Johnson; aunt, Maggie Perry, all in Richmond, Virginia, uncle, Levi Perry, Columbia SC, a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Arrangements are with Community Mortuary, 102 Marion Avenue Spartanburg, SC.
