Carl Jerome Pinkney

Carl Jerome Pinkney, 60, of 103 Whipoorwill Way, Dublin, GA, was born August 15, 1959, in Sumter, SC, the son of Millie Black Pinkney and the late Murray Pinkney, Jr.  Carl graduated from Sumter High School, Class of 1977.  He attended South Carolina State University, Orangeburg, SC, followed by a stint in the United States Air Force 1979 – 1981.  Carl unexpectedly departed this life January 2, 2020.  In addition to his father, Carl was predeceased by two brothers, Willie Pinkney and Earl Franklin Pinkney.  Surviving are his wife, Latondra Pinkney of the home, his mother, Millie Pinkney, Greenville, SC, children, Taiisha Pinkney Bradley (James) Murfreesboro, TN, Carlton Jerrell Pinkney, Greenville, SC, and LaVonte Glisson, Sumter, SC, four grandchildren, Jamarian Pinkney, Mason and Landon Bradley, and Serenity Glisson, one sister, Helen Pinkney Nixon (Edward), Greenville, SC, nieces Terrolyn Pinkney Kissai, Greenville, SC, Teresa Nixon Campbell (Troy), Norwalk, CA, Jamiece Pinkney, Dallas, TX, Michelle Price, Florence, SC, one nephew, Matthew Pinkney, GA, two aunts, Eliza Pearson (Marion) and Jacqui Pinkney (Jaime) of Philadelphia, PA, and a host of other relatives and friends including the masses who called him pops, dad, papa simply because of his influence in their lives.  Arrangements are with Dudley Funeral Home, Dublin, GA.
